The
appearance of immunosuppressants contributes to a better therapeutic effect as
well as its prognosis for lupus nephritis patients. Other than lab tests being done in clinics or hospitals,
the patients could also recognize and detect the disease by its symptoms.
Clinical symptoms include the signs of SLE and Lupus Nephritis since
sometimes it is hard to tell them apart.
Lupus attacks, more often than not, in those who are pregnant. It is a
systemic disease which could possibly get kidney involved. Symptoms of Lupus
Nephritis are:
Asymptomatic proteinuria (protein in urine) or hematuria (blood in urine) may
develop in some of the patients with LN.
High blood pressure can also attack as a result of the disease due to kidney
damages. Other symptoms include nephrotic syndrome, acute nephritic syndrome and
rapid progressive nephritic syndrome etc.
Proteinuria becomes one of the most commonly seen symptoms in clinic. About
25% of LN patients suffer from Nephrotic Syndrome and usually accompanied with
microscopic hematuria. Compared with microscopic blood in urine, gross hematuria
has a pretty low incidence, like 6.4%. Other than those signs, parts of the
patients show up leucocyturia or cylindruia (also known as urine casts)
sometimes. The amount of hematuria, leucocyturia or urine casts reflect the
activity of kidney problems. A small number of patients with LN even develop
renal tubular dysfunction presenting as renal tubular acidosis or disturbance of
potassium metabolism.
15%-50% of Lupus Nephritis patients also develop high blood pressure together
with kidney impairments. In some serious cases, oliguria and hypertension as
well as progressive declined kidney function attack.
Other than kidney damages, signs of lupus can present:
Systemic fever, discomfort, fatigue or loss of appetite
Butterfly or discoid rash showing up in patients’ faces
Muscle ache, joint pain or arthritis etc.
Pericarditis or pleuritis
Anemia
Persistent headache, cognitive disorder, coma, seizure or cardiovascular
problems
Patients could recognize Lupus Nephritis from those signs or symptoms. If you
happen to a lupus patient, do monitor your kidney health since SLE could easily
get kidney or other vital organs involved.

Kidney failure can be divided into Acute Kidney Failure and Chronic Kidney Failure, the previous one can be treated by timely treatment, but the latter one will need take some times. In the past, dialysis and transplant are the two common ways for the treatment of advanced kidney failure. With the times going, some therapies like Micro-Chinese Medicine Osmotherapy has been invented, which is the most effective ways to cure this disease.
